Hello – my name is Millie and I am an Officer on the Central Referral and Assessment Team. This role consists of processing customer referrals, dealing with general housing-related queries and answering the telephone. I’ve been in this role for 2 years in total now but for around the first year and a half, I completed the role as an Apprentice. This was such a good experience for me; the team really took me under their wing and taught me all there was to know about the role. For anyone considering completing an Apprenticeship, I would definitely recommend going for it! They’re such a good way of learning new skills and building your knowledge, whilst also earning at the same time – which for me was great! I am now an Officer within the team and love the different challenge every day brings – you just never know what referrals you are going to receive and who you are going to support on the end of the phone.

Millie – CRT Officer

Hi, my name is Fawn and over the past two years, my career with Stepping Stone Project has been both transformative and deeply rewarding.

In my role as a Supported Housing Worker, I had the privilege of supporting young care leavers aged 16–25 with a wide range of needs. My work involved helping them access education, including enrolling them onto college courses, and ensuring they were registered with essential healthcare services such as local doctors, dentists, and opticians. Watching these young people progress, build confidence, and eventually move into their own independent accommodation has been incredibly fulfilling.

Recently, I have been promoted to Assistant Operations Manager, where I now support young families and help them navigate the various challenges they face. This transition has broadened my responsibilities and strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality support to those who need it most.

Being part of Stepping Stone Projects continues to be a privilege, and I thoroughly enjoy contributing to the positive impact we create within the community.

Thinking about joining The Stepping Stone Project?

Go for it! From the moment I started, I was met with an incredible welcome and genuine kindness from every colleague I encountered. The level of support within the team is exceptional, and it truly makes all the difference.

Fawn – Assistant Operations Manager
